Alex’s passion for the local area and all aspects of photography are evident in his approach to this course. I have come away looking at the world with different eyes and am still suffering from the effects of sensory overload. I was lucky enough to witness a festival in Alhama, where the Spanish men dress as women, but with shrouds over their head. What a strange experience but a fantastic opportunity for photos! Alex utilises lots of different locations and can emphasise different aspects of photography, whether it be portraiture, detail shots of the Alhambra, the forest or waterfalls … there is a spot for it all! A couple of weeks later, I am still talking about this trip with my family and friends.

Spot on! Alex delivers interest, excitement and expert knowledge of spectacular locations in and around Alhama. Throughout our five days here we were never short of subjects to learn and new photographic skills to apply. Feedback sessions of our edited ‘snaps’ were invaluable. Accommodation and food here was excellent and the host Paco a real laugh after a busy day.

Andalucian Photography Workshops - a perfect relaxed way to learn. Alex understood my dislike of the computer elements in photography these days, but enabled me to get over this. By the end of the course I had learnt an enormous amount, developed my own style further and got to grips with the computer. In addition the scenery and environment really inspired me. What a great course. I recommend it wholeheartedly
